^{Film and installation}_{Born in Fenyi, China, grew up in Skåne, Sweden. Studied in France and continued at École supérieur d’art à Tourcoing (BA Fine Art). Graduated in Fine Art at HDK-Valand, Gothenburg, 2023.

Alva Qi Törnqvist works with essay film and installation, exploring transnational adoption through memory, history and kinship. Her works take shape in relation to the people she meets and those she cannot reach. It involves collecting archival material and documenting conversations and stories, forming the works. Through letter-like voice-overs, interviews and images, voices from different times overlap.
Spatial installations with film and VR use scenographic elements as a materialisation of the work - a physical entry point where body and space shape the experience.}
